We know
that you are concerned about your privacy when visiting Web sites and
doing business online. We want you to know that we don't give or sell
your personal information to anybody other than those whom you intend
it for. If you're ever asked to give personal information it's only
that which we need to provide you with the services that you're requesting,
or to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
YOUR
PRIVATE INFORMATION IS PROTECTED BY STATE OF THE ART ENCRYPTION SOFTWARE
You can browse almost all of our guide to North Carolina Real Estate
without ever having to give any personal information. If, however, you
ever decide to take advantage of any of our services that require you
to give personal information such as Social Security Account Numbers,
credit card numbers, bank records or other personally identifiable and
private information, you will be protected by state of the art encryption
software from secure servers. If you elect to enter any secure, password
protected areas you will be required to register and apply for an account
with your personal details. But you will always do so from a protected
secure page.
VERIFY
THAT YOU ARE ON A SECURE PAGE
How do you know when you're on a secure server page? You will see that
the Internet address, or URL, of the Web site page in your browser's
address box starts with the designation, "https." The "s"
stands for "secure". A normal nonsecure page URL starts with
the familiar "http." Your browser may also display a small
lock (or key, depending upon your brand of browser, in the lower right
hand corner of the browser task bar.
WHAT
WE DO WITH INFORMATION THAT YOU MAY PROVIDE TO US
We do not sell or give your personal information to third parties other
than those real estate agents, vendors and service providers who are
listed in our site. We only transmit that information when and only
when you specifically authorize us to do so. When you use our guide
to North Carolina real estate to contact real estate brokers you will
be prompted to provide personal information such as your name, address
and telephone number, e-mail address and certain information about the
type, price and location of any home or commercial real estate that
you may be seeking. You may also be asked about status of the mortgage
for your prospective new home-- whether you are pre-qualified or have
yet to start the loan process. Your request for information or assistance
will be forwarded to a real estate broker or other provider in the geographical
area of your interest, and you may be contacted by telephone or e-mail
in order to process your request. Commercial real estate prospects also
complete a similar form. We handle it the same way. Homeowners may complete
one of two listing forms to place their home on the market. We will
use the information that homeowners provide to contact them about the
details of their home and/or to transmit the information to a participating
real estate broker in their area. We may provide some data such as statistics,
marketing trends or other information to third parties but that information
never personally identifies you in any way. We don't want personal details
such as Social Security Account Numbers, credit card numbers or other
private information.
COOKIES
We may use "cookies" to help your browsing experience on our
site. A cookie is a tiny computer code file on your hard drive that
we use as a housekeeping device. A cookie doesn't snoop on you, and
it doesn't transmit any information about you to unauthorized parties.
Cookies are extremely convenient little snippets of code that make your
visit more convenient. For example, when you log back onto our site
the cookie helps our server remember you (or more accurately, your computer)
and may make certain files available to you faster than they were on
your first visit. We also use cookies for quality control. We may use
a cookie to track your contact with one of our listed service providers
or vendors so that we may follow up with you and the provider to ensure
the quality of your experience. The cookie can't access your computer
files and it certainly won't harm your computer. And it's not a privacy
issue because the cookie won't reveal your identity or e-mail address
to anyone other than us. Most common versions of the Netscape
and Internet Explorer browsers
will accept cookies unless you tell them not to. If your browser does
not accept cookies, or if you return after the cookie expires or you
erase your cookies, your browsing experience may be slower.
LINKS
TO THIRD PARTY SITES
The service providers and vendors whom you link to from our pages are
independent businesses. We have no control over the business practices
or the privacy policies of those third parties. Therefore if you do
business with any of the third parties you do so at your own risk. You
should read the privacy policies of those businesses.
